Jimbrew Micro Brewery and Tap Room
Location: Preston
Client: Jimbrew
Jimbrew is a small, sustainable independent brewing company that specialises in naturally gluten-free beers.
Jimbrew's aim is to dispel the myths that beer made from nonstandard brewing ingredients is inferior to traditional brewing methods. Jimbrew wants to make beer that stands out, not because it’s gluten-free, but because it’s great beer! The existing building was a run-down barn which has now been fully refurbished and given a new lease of life.
Jimbrew has installed a brewing system with a capacity of 400 litres per run. With 2 x 400 litre fermenters, this system is capable of two batches every two weeks, or once weekly depending on the schedule. The space could accommodate up to 6 fermentors whilst having enough space for other essential items and tasks in the brewery (cleaning of cask and keg, storage of cask, kegs and bottles to be filled, ingredients).
The upper floor of our building has been totally refurbished, improving the thermal performance as a tasting room that will be opened up to the public or interested parties during limited times. We believe the cornerstone of every great brand is that the consumer feels part of the process, therefore by inviting our audience into the operational space we can bridge the gap between the brand and the buyer.
Having a limited on-site tasting room they can always guarantee their clients beer that is fresh from the tanks! Most modern breweries now incorporate an area of their brewery as a taproom for this very reason.
When not being used for tasting, this area of the brewery will be used as storage and workspace, it will be a flexible area to hold meetings and provide training to staff members and external interested parties.
