Client Objectives
In partnership with Carter’s Building Consultancy, A.RN Projects was commissioned to transform a 1950s bungalow into a contemporary, energy-efficient family home. The brief was to modernise the property through a comprehensive extension and refurbishment, combining sustainable design principles with high-spec finishes and the latest smart home technology.

Our Work
The project involved a full renovation and significant reconfiguration of the existing property, with a focus on the following key areas:

• Single-Storey Rear Extension: We constructed a rear extension to create a spacious, open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. This new zone now forms the hub of the home, designed for modern family living. Expansive sliding glass doors frame views of the landscaped garden and allow natural light to flood the space, enhancing the connection between indoors and out.

• Loft Conversion: To increase the living accommodation without altering the building’s footprint, we carried out a loft conversion, creating two new en-suite bedrooms. Each room was designed to maximise space and light, incorporating built-in storage and high-quality finishes for a refined yet practical feel.

• External Works: At the rear, a raised patio was constructed to provide a versatile outdoor entertaining area, seamlessly linking the interior living spaces with the garden.
